Benijofar is a lovely small village with a charming church, a modern square, a long high street and an abundance of tapas bars, cafes and restaurants as well as some interesting little shops. There is a small street market every Tuesday morning, and a flat circular walking route to the waterwheel on the Rio Segura and the El Secano Park. The town hall is very informative, the casa de cultura offers the occasional show or exhibition and the municipal sports centre has an open air swimming pool and two tennis courts.
Nearby is the urbanisation area known as Benimar. Located here are three iconic crosses on a hill which are used during the Easter Parades, and the lovely Cañada Marsa Park with lakes, plants, open spaces and some resident ducks! Next to the park are the very lively Benimar commercial centres which have a great selection of bars and restaurants.
